The respite home Couette et Trotinette saw the day in 2008. Situated in Rigaud, the family home is a place of healing for children between the ages of 2 and 18, living with autism and ASD. The goal is to give parents a little bit of rest but also peace of mind. "Couette et Trotinette" is an initiative by Karine Dubé, remedial specialist, special education teacher and mother of five kids, of which two are different types of autistics.
At Couette et Trotinette, we want every child to feel in harmony with himself, others and the environment. We are dedicated to providing quality services, structured and varied activities in a safe and family oriented environment for the child to develop its full potential under the guidance of an attentive and sympathetic staff member.
Under the bed and breakfast notion, owners enjoy serving delicious and healthy dishes as well as offering a cozy bed in a room leaving lots of opportunities for imagination and dreams. During day time, stimulating activities, fun, artistic and musical activities are suggested. We respect the pace and abilities of each child and adapt our operations by ensuring the happiness of toddlers. At "Couette et Trotinette", the beginning and the end of the day are very important. They are meant to organize the youngsters in time and space.
The goal is to provide quality time with each child present and that every day in our company are significant for our young visitors. The proprietors want parents to leave with peace of mind and start to take advantage of this little well deserved rest. Being parents of children with special needs, we know how important it is to be reassured and know that our children are in good hands. We insist that parents leave with confidence, so our openness, our flexibility and listening skills are our main assets.
